Indisputable Fact

Tim Lincecum is the shit.  That kid can hurl a baseball like it’s nobody’s business.    He should run for VP.  I’d vote for him.    Here’s a list of reasons why I think Lincecum would be good in the White House:

  • Cool under pressure
  • Knows how and when to bring the heat
  • Not afraid to drill the hardest hitters in the league
  • One hell of a delivery
  • Cute as a button
Of course, he’s too young to run for that office, but he’s not too young to win the Cy Young.

My Second Game of the Season

I went to see the Giants again last night. In case you’re keeping count, that’s two Giants’ games and one A’s game. I am a baseball fiend. I told you I was going to go to more games this year, as I am a crazy single girl, and nothing will come between me and Brian Wilson, except maybe his atrocious facial hair choices.

Anyway, my brother’s boss has season tickets, and he gave a pair to me and my mom last night. We got to see Matt Cain not only pitch a great game, and take the win, but he hit a home run to boot. The only homer for the Giants in yesterday’s match up. Take that Designated Hitter! Cain’s got a batting average of .313. Fred Lewis almost hit for the cycle, hitting a single, double, and a triple. All he needed was that homer. Next time.

I had a really good time, and I got to do some cheering and hollering. I think that was the first time my mom and I went to a ball game together without my dad or brother, which was pretty cool.

Oh, and did I mention that the weather was perfect? ‘Cause it was. No freezing wind for this one.

What to Write?

I don’t really have anything to make up a full post today, so here’s a few interesting tidbits:

  • I’m going to the Giants game tonight with Momser.   Matt Cain is on the mound against the Houston Astros
  • It’s unusually warm in The City today, so much so that I saw a man in a kilt.  You know it’s one thing when the women start wearing skirts, but it’s a whole other level of warmth when the men join in.

And that’s all I got folks.  It’s just a slow news day, and I haven’t seen or done anything that I think is worthy of writing about.  I’ve just been having a very average day.

I’m off work tomorrow to do some more quality time with Momser, too.

I hope the faithful readers are having a more eventful week.

Brrrrr!

That was an exceptionally cold night at the ballpark last night. Tim Lincecum on the mound, sadly got his first loss of the season. I’m pretty sure that ump blew that call on the balk, but it’s hard to tell from the center field bleachers, you know. It’s all OK, though, because at least I got to go to the game. Also, I got to yell at some Dodgers’ fans. Seriously, the Giants were playing the Rockies. Where’d the Dodger-blues come from? AB got a kick out of some of my random baseball utterances. “Run you slow slow slow . . . .little man!”

You know what’s really hard? Sending text messages when you hands are frozen solid. But I managed, and I have to say, I’m becoming much more of a fan of text messaging and picture mail. Especially when I get random ones in the middle of the night that make absolutely no sense from what I can only assume are very drunk friends. I hope some day to get one that is actually important, something along the lines of “water broke. baby coming.”

Anyway, by the time the game was over, my feet were completely numb. It’s so weird to walk around like that, and to have to assume that you’re touching the ground. When I got home, I went right into the shower to try to warm up. Went to bed around midnight. Woke up at 1:35 by random text messages. Two within a minute from two different friends. Then continued waking myself up every other hour for no apparent reason all night long.

I’m tired. I’m crabby. My throat is a little sore from the hollering.

Monday I’m going to an A’s game. Crazy.

My Boys

The Giants did it again last night, taking game one in a three game series from the Arizona Diamondbacks.  The D-Backs are tied with St. Louis, who the Giants beat on Sunday, for the best record in baseball right now.    This makes my heart sing.    The Giants have won five out of their last seven, and have moved out of last place in the west division.   Who’s in last now?   The Dodgers.   Oh yeah!   That’s freaking sexy.

I came to the conclusion last night that my neighbors are going to hate me.   I was getting really into the game, and I was clapping, maybe even hooting a little, and I thought, I wonder what this sounds like to them?   I’ve had other neighbors before, though, and no one ever said anything before, so hopefully they won’t have any issues with my noisy fanaticism.

Have I mentioned that I love baseball?

Unstoppable.

The Giants did it again.    That’s a streak!!!!!

Ok so maybe I’m going a little overboard, but I just would love to see this mix mash of misfits and rookies have a winning season.   Or, you know, set themselves up for a winning season next year.   Regardless, I’ll still be rooting for them.  It’s the kind of fan I am.

(Yeah, it’s a picture of Noah Lowry, and I realize that he didn’t play today, and that he’s on the DL list, but I like the pose, so get off my back, will ya?)

2 In a Row

I’ve decided to make a commitment in my life. I’m going to commit myself to watch more Giants’ games this season. I didn’t get to see the game last night, but I sat and watched tonights. I sneezed my way through 9 innings of tense, drama-filled, fantastic shut out pitching, including 10 strike outs by Jonathan Sanchez.

And in the bottom of the ninth, Dan Ortmeier hits a game winning walk off double.

And like that, the Giants have won two in a row, and they took two out of three from the Padres.

I love baseball. Is there anything more beautiful? I say ‘no’.

There is one golden bright side to living alone, I suppose. I can watch as many games as I want, without ever having to answer any questions, and I can even yell at the TV.

But maybe I should find a cool bar with a TV nearby to sit and watch a few amongst other people, too.

I guess spring isn’t all bad.
